It took well over a month longer than expected. I guess I underestimated the complexity of my little node script. Anyway it's here and working so I guess I better move on quickly. It all happens because I'm an optimist and I don't expect all the real trouble ahead. Let's move on! Next chapter is delivering some data to the user.

It all started some time ago when my brother opened a store on Amazon. My neighbor is making plastic containers and they were his first products. Having experience from SEO on YoutTube and AppStore he soon realized that he needed something to track his products search position. I was willing to help but this time my condition was that I'm doing it for others also. I started working on a MVP shortly before Christmas.

First I needed a name. I asked a question on indiehackers and choose rankfirst.me. Next I had to get a VPS since I'm doing it indiehackers way (all by myself). Contabo.de had a nice offer and mid January I had my server up and running. For mail I'm using yandex.com and I still have to configure a few aliases. I made a landing page with user management and part of the app where user can choose Amazon stores one is selling at. I'm using asp.net with bootstrap 4.0 and heavy use of JavaScript (jQuery). Next I had to involve a designer to help me with page's design (I lost the illusion that I can design long ago!).

I decided I'll include a blog to track my progress and make everything more interesting. First I considered Miniblog and then used its fork RazorPub (I even forgot why). Now I miss comments and a decent blog editor, well...

On 16th of February I finally made a post asking for feedback and got first 10 signups! Looks promising.

Well if someone's got any questions my mail is admin@rankfirst.me.
